A Beautiful Mind
Conversation over Cocktails – Mindfulness Matters
Moving towards the Work:Life:Mind Balance.
In today’s world which is synonymous with hustle, bustle, activity, consumption, social media and a highly public life for all, what does the human mind really go through? How can one keep their minds calm and strong in an environment that seems to be invading privacy and mounting up the pressure at a day to day level?
Our recently held COC in Delhi,at the Kiran Nadar Musuem of Art, sought answers to these questions and also showed the way for maintaining a cool mental make-up.
Our panelists included:
- Malini Ramani – Kundalini Yoga Practitioner
- Anus Kaushik – Hair and Make Up Artist, Educationist
- Sanjana Rishi – Content Creator, US Attorney
The event was moderated by Neeva Jain, a writer journalist.
Here are some of the key takeaways from the event:
- “Yoga means union”as quoted by our panellist Malini Ramani.
Mental well-being is directly related to a clear mind, and this is where Yoga comes in.
She stated that anything that helps bring someone closer to themselves and their soul, is Yoga. Breaking the bias that people have about Yoga, she talked about the different forms of it, like karma Yoga which help one to clear their mind and soul, and hence promote wellness.
2. Work:Life:Mind: Our panellist,Anu Kaushik, shed light on the importance of work life balance. She herself being a workaholic stated how important it is to draw a line where required, failing which it can take a huge toll on mental health and well-being.
She also stated how discipline and enjoying your work are two of the most important aspects to have a balanced work life.
3. iTouch: Sanjana Rishi stated how important it is for you to stay in touch with the way you feel. Bashing all the toxic norms of positivity, she acknowledged and accepted pitfalls as well. The importance of accepting your lows just as you accept and celebrate your highs is a must for a healthy well-being.
4. Never Hide: There are no flaws as the world calls them. Everything you have, and everything you are, makes you unique, and makes you yourself, mentioned Anu Kaushik. Make-up certainly boosts confidence, but to appear beautiful to the eyes, one needs to feel beautiful within.
5. Step by Step: Mental pitfalls and blocks are a part of life, but there are ways to get through things, overcome and win. As Malini effortlessly put it, there is an importance of having a balanced day, with a little bit of everything. There are falls but that doesn’t mean you cannot achieve your balance again. Taking one step at a time, one breath at a time is all that you need to do.
