Juicy Chemistry, an organic beauty brand, founded by LWL Member Megha Asher, experienced more than just a moment when they pampered our members with environmentally conscious hampers this Women’s Day. 

Since it’s inception, Juicy Chemistry has been an anomaly in the beauty business with a unique approach of blending the powerful magic of luxe, eco-packaging, innovative and intuitive design, high-performance formulas and ethically sourced organic ingredients at an attainable price. Read on as Megha shares her inspiring journey of turning her love for makeup in a business venture.

How was Juicy Chemistry born?
I had sensitive, acne-prone skin, and after trying various products, I tried going organic. This entire experience was profoundly meaningful and gave me an impetus to embark on this journey, along with my partner and Co-founder Pritesh, to launch Juicy Chemistry.

What were the challenges in building and growing the brand?
Sourcing certified organic ingredients was a huge challenge, but we started to scratch below the surface and source simplified, organically grown ingredients directly from the farms. Creating awareness and adaptability for natural products took time, but eventually, people began placing their faith in the brand owing to the absolute transparency in our formulations and philosophy.

How do you ensure sustainably and ethically sourced and produced products?
We source directly from certified organic farms, adopt eco-friendly processes, and conduct safety tests and scrutiny from ECOCERT for certification to cut through unsubstantiated claims within the severely unregulated industry.

What is Juicy Chemistry’s fundraising journey and future plans?
Juicy Chemistry was bootstrapped for the first five years before they raised an angel round and Series A. We are currently preparing for Series B.

What are some of your recent favorite products and why?
I particularly love our soaps, rose water, rosehip seed oil, and ampoules.

What advice would you give to a female founder starting out?
Be sincere and dedicated to your path, and stay true to yourself and your audience.

How has being part of LWL helped with your business and individually?
Being part of this beautiful community has inspired me to chase after my dreams relentlessly, just like my fellow peers, and stay true to myself.

Any key insights you would like to mention on a personal or professional level?
Authenticity is everything.

My journey is a testament to the fact that with dedication, passion, and perseverance, one can make a successful career in whatever it is that you choose to do.
